John GreenwoodBSc., C.Phys., M.Inst.P., CPA, EPA, ETMAJohn, our senior partner, graduated with a First class Honours degree in Physics from St. Andrews University where he stayed to carry out research into semiconductors. He started his patents career in 1976 working initially within Government and then in the telecommunications industry before joining Graham Watt & Co LLP in 1993. Nicholas Kirkham BSc., CPA, EPA, ETMA Nick graduated with an Honours degree in Chemistry from the University of Durham in 1989. He then started his professional career with a London firm of patent and trade mark attorneys. He joined Graham Watt & Co LLP in 1994 becoming a partner in 1997. He has a keen interest in professional matters. Whilst training, he was a member of the Informals Committee (for students training in the profession) and was Honorary Secretary of the Committee 1993/94. Nick continues his involvement in student education as a member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents (CIPA) Education Committee and by giving lectures. He is also a member of the Press and PR Committee of CIPA which promotes public awareness of the profession. Nick is a member of FICPI, ECTA and INTA. Alison Cole FITMA As part of her degree in European Law with French and German, Alison began her career in the legal department of a large multi-national conglomerate in Paris. She was previously a partner at a large London firm. Alison’s areas of experience include cosmetics, publishing, motor vehicles and pharmaceuticals. Alison handles all areas of UK, CTM and Madrid Protocol trade mark work, from searching and availability advice to infringement opinions and settlement agreements. In addition, she regularly advises clients regarding the protection of their domain names and domain name disputes and resolutions.
